Q: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DRIVING TEST AT THE SCHOOL AND DRIVING TEST AT THE DMV?

A: WITH DRIVING TEST AT THE SCHOOL, THE TEST WILL BE ADMINISTERED BY ONE OF OUR STAFF MEMBERS. THERE WILL BE A PRE-EXAM PRACTICE (WHEN APPLICABLE) TO GET FAMILIAR WITH THE EXAM AREA. WE WILL PROVIDE A CERTIFICATE ONCE THE STUDENT PASSES THE TEST. IT IS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO GO TO A DMV OFFICE TO GET THE DRIVER'S LICENSE. THE DMV CAN RANDOMLY REQUIRE A STUDENT TO RETAKE THE DRIVING TEST AT A DMV LOCATION. A VALID FLORIDA LEARNER'S PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS SERVICE. WITH DRIVING TEST AT THE DMV, THE TEST WILL TAKE PLACE AT A DMV LOCATION WITH A DMV EXAMINER. STUDENTS NEED TO PROVIDE THE CAR. (SUNNY ROAD DRIVING SCHOOL DOES NOT PROVIDE TESTS AT THE DMV. ONLY AT THE SCHOOL).

A: FLORIDA REQUIRES THAT MINORS COMPLETE A MINIMUM OF 50 HRS OF DRIVING (10 OF WHICH SHOULD BE AT NIGHT) BEFORE TAKING THE DRIVING EXAM. IDEALY, THESE HOURS SHOULD BE A COMBINATION OF DRIVING SCHOOL TRAINING AND FAMILY ASSISTED PRACTICE. MOST STUDENTS START THEIR TRAINING WITH THE DRIVING SCHOOL AND GRADUALLY TRANSITION TO DRIVING WITH AN ABLE FAMILY MEMBER TO COMPLETE THEIR PRACTICE HOURS. IT IS A GREAT IDEA TO KEEP A DRIVING PRACTICE LOGBOOK. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD A FREE PDF DRIVING LOG HERE.

A: YOU CAN TAKE THE EXAM AGAIN WITH US FOR FREE AFTER 7 DAYS. THERE WILL BE NO PICK-UP / DROP OFF FOR EXAM RETAKES. STUDENTS ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO TAKE THE TEST TWICE AT THE SCHOOL. AFTER A SECOND FAILED ATTEMPT, STUDENTS WILL NEED TO TAKE THE EXAM AT THE DMV.

Q: WILL YOU HELP ME PASS MY DRIVING EXAM, (wink wink)?

A: IF YOU HAVE THIS TYPE OF QUESTION, PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE EMBARRASSMENT OF A SCORNFUL REMARK. WE PRIDE OURSELVES IN PREPARING OUR STUDENTS TO BE SAFE DRIVERS AND TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF OUR COMMUNITY. WE LIVE HERE, AND SO DO OUR CHILDREN. THE LAST THING WE WANT, IS TO ALLOW AN UNSAFE PERSON TO OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE ON OUR ROADS. IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO TAKE THE EXAM, YOU CAN PRACTICE SOME MORE AND TAKE THE EXAM WHEN YOU FEEL READY.
